A Pair of Detentions Following London Heathrow ‘Pepper Spray’ Incident

Placeholder Heathrow Airport scene
The assault resulted in the partial shutdown of the Central Terminal Area tunnel and the Terminal 3 car park.

Two more people are now in custody in connection with a robbery at London's Heathrow Airport where over twenty individuals were injured by what is thought to be an irritant spray, according to law enforcement.

A man, 24, was taken into custody in Lambeth on suspicion of robbery and assault and a woman, 23 was arrested for suspected conspiracy to commit robbery. Both individuals remain in custody, authorities confirmed.

These detentions come after a probe into an attack at the multi-level parking garage at Terminal 3 this past Sunday. Before the incident, a pair of female travelers were robbed of their suitcases upon exiting a car park lift.

A toddler aged three was among the injured in the event. A total of five individuals went to hospital for medical care and were later discharged.

Police arrested a 31-year-old man for suspected theft and assault close to the scene. He has since been released pending further inquiries as the investigation proceeds.

Police were alerted at approximately 8:10 in the morning GMT following reports of several people hurt by a noxious substance thought to be pepper spray.

The attack - which authorities stated was isolated and not considered terrorism - caused train delays and the temporary shutdown of the main airport tunnel and the T3 car park briefly.
