I will dominate 'serious boxer' Jake Paul - Joshua

Anthony Joshua and Jake Paul face-off

The British boxer will face Jake Paul in an eight round contest which will be streamed in real-time on Netflix.

Briton Anthony Joshua stated he will "overwhelm entirely" the American and "break" the American as the two fighters met personally to promote the upcoming heavyweight fight.

Ex twice world title holder Anthony Joshua battles YouTuber-turned-boxer Paul - in what is, on paper, a massive disparity - at Miami's arena on 19 December.

Boxer's Attitude

"I plan to break his face and break his body up. I aim to demonstrate I'm the better fighter," Joshua, 35 years old, declared.

"I plan to overwhelm him. That's the boxer's mindset.

"I will seriously aim to injure him. That's what I want to do."

Respectful Interaction

Despite those words, a relaxed Anthony Joshua and internet personality Paul - usually recognized for his theatrics - exchanged pleasantries and remained civil with each other.

Paul instead attacked former Joshua's rival Francis Ngannou and labeled him "not serious" after Ngannou turned down a fight offer.

Targeting Fury

Joshua, at the same time, targeted British rival Fury - and refused a million-pound wager 'The Gypsy King' states he will put on a victory for Paul.

"Jake Paul is superior to Tyson Fury - he's present here," Joshua said.

"I respect him for that."

Legitimate Fighter

In spite of stating he plans to damage his opponent, Anthony Joshua declined to talk badly about his rival's boxing ability.

"Jake Paul is a legitimate boxer," he stated.

Paul's Background

Paul - who first rose to fame on the television network - has primarily boxed mixed martial artists or past-their-prime fighters since becoming pro.

He was defeated by British fighter Tommy Fury in 2023.

Commercial Success

Still, the inexperienced fighter is still one of the sport's greatest commercial attractions, frequently receiving huge paydays.

Prediction and Belief

The 28 year old forecast a knockout win in rounds four or five and claimed he would prevent the much-anticipated Joshua–Fury fight, which is reportedly under discussion for 2026.

"It's going to be myself against Tyson Fury in the coming year," Jake Paul declared.

Physical Difference

As both boxers met for the customary stare-down, with their height and weight contrast clearly visible, it highlighted just how unlikely this whole event is - and how amazing it is that the bout is actually proceeding.
